‘Kart Rider’ Begins Item Sales in Taiwan

Nexon said last week that it has started charging Taiwanese users for new game characters and items from “Kart Rider,” a mega-hit racing game. The decision came after the game made a better-thanexpected debut in the country. Since opening on Jan. 5, more than 1 million Taiwanese have played it more than once, and around 70,000 play it simultaneously during peak times, the company said. Nexon has forged a partnership with Gamania Digital Entertainment for the local service. Nexon said. ‘Lineage 2’ Victims Granted 100,000 Won Seoul Central District Court ruled on Friday that NCsoft should pay 100,000 won each to the victims of password leaks in its online game “Lineage 2.” The court said that the company should compensate three of five plaintiffs for emotional damage they suffered by having their personal information exposed in public. The amount has been cut by one fifth, as a lower court had said NCsoft must pay the victims 500,000 won each last year. NCsoft said it is considering appealing once again.
